EUDR Supplier Deadlines in October 2026 vs EU Statutory Application Dates
Distinguish EFICO's October supplier and consignment requests from the EU's phased EUDR application dates.
Reviewed 18 October 2026 against the European Commission implementation update and EFICO's public supplier policy. Buyer conditions and legal application dates answer different questions; neither should be inferred from a website countdown.
What EFICO asks its coffee suppliers to do
EFICO's policy requests geolocation and traceability data for relevant consignments from 1 October 2026. Its policy describes consignment-level plot data, normally in a consolidated GeoJSON file, together with traceability and harvest-period information. For a consignment, the data deadline is within 48 hours following EFICO's approval of pre-shipment samples, approximately one month before shipment.
EFICO's supplier risk-assessment survey deadline is 31 October 2026. The supplier survey and consignment-level data pack are separate requirements. An exporter should confirm the relevant contract, sample approval and Bill of Lading with the buyer before calculating its own handover date.
What the Commission says about general EUDR timing
The Commission's July 2026 update states application from 30 December 2026 for medium and large operators and for micro/small operators already covered by the EU Timber Regulation. For most other micro/small operators, the stated date is 30 June 2027. The legal category and covered product matter; a later general date does not remove an earlier contractual buyer evidence request. The July update separately gives 30 December 2027 for products newly added to scope by those measures, so product-specific applicability also needs checking.
A practical deadline register
- Record the source of each deadline: law, buyer policy, contract or specific buyer message.
- Record the applicable operator, covered product, shipment and source owner.
- Separate the survey deadline from consignment evidence and sample-approval timestamps.
- Preserve the buyer instruction and its version. Resolve unclear conditions with the buyer or qualified adviser.
- Allow for source-owner responses and technical QA; a 48-hour buyer deadline is not a guarantee that any data backlog can be repaired in 48 hours.
Technical help without implying buyer endorsement
Soilo can scope technical checks of existing authorised plot and shipment records, identify exceptions and prepare a versioned evidence handover. Acceptance depends on source rights, reviewer capacity and validated readiness. Soilo is not an EFICO partner, approved assessor or portal-submission agent. It does not undertake official EUDR due diligence or make legal compliance determinations. These sources should be rechecked immediately before customer commitment or deployment of deadline-sensitive copy.
